Emma Hoogenhout Dominates Youth Tourney - by Staff Reporter New Era - online
Emma Hoogenhout Primary School are the new champions in the Under-9 age category of the annual PUMA/Otb Sport 7-A Side Youth Soccer Tournament.
The tourney attracted a record number of 40 teams, with over N$30,000 of prizes at stake.
Emma Hoogenhout defeated SKW in the final while Khomas Football Academy took honours in the Under-11 age category – leaving SKW to pick up the pieces for the runner-up spot again.
NYFDP won the Under-13 age category with SKW as runners-up. The Under-15 age category was won by Khomas Football Academy after seeing off NYFDP in the final.
Emma Hoogenhout girls returned the honours to their male counterparts when they pipped SKW for first place.
At the prize-giving ceremony PUMA representative, Jaco Van der Merwe, thanked the event organisers, Otb sport, for their commitment in developing Namibian sport and for what they gave back to the Namibian sporting community.
